EP141 – Dina Demetriou on why offering a hair extension service is great for business
In this episode of the Respectfully podcast we hear from Dina Dimetriou on why offering a hair extension service is great for business. Dina Demetriou is from a family of hairdressers and is a former salon owner. A friend encouraged her to get into hair extensions and despite being reticent, Dina says adding hair extensions to her service menu was an instant hit.

Today she is employed full time as Head of Education for Beauty Works. This is an extensions brand which has exploded on social media, With brand ambassadors including Molly Mae Hague and Maya Jama who perfectly portray the product to the consumer, Beauty Works is equally committed to supporting professional hairdressers with direct support on education, training and business skills.
When Dina met Nicky

Dina chats easily with Respectfully host Nicky Pope and their conversation includes a lot to interest and inform you. Sharing the Beauty Works story and discussing the current trends and business challenges of the hairdressing industry in the UK, Dina is super-positive about the opportunities for salons and independents in giving hair extensions a place on their service menu. From maximising the time and skills of the not-so-buy stylist in your team, to securing new client business, or broadening the commitment of your regular clientele, there is masses of scope with hair extensions.
Beauty Works are market leaders in luxury hair extensions, using only 100%, highest quality Remy human hair. Styling tools, haircare and a range of hair extensions for a variety of applications are available. Importantly the team includes both sales and educators. Nicky and Dina look at how hair extensions are no longer an additional service, but a whole market sector of their own.
