EP138 – Louis Byrne and Nicky Pope discuss empowerment coaching and taking control of your life

Mar 17, 2025

Louis Byrne discusses his work as an empowerment coach and how he’s launched projects to help you take control of your life. As a hairdresser Louis Byrne works with amazing talent including actress Vicky McClure and singer Paloma Faith as well as working sessions with major designers and publications. As a well known industry figure, you’ll often see Louis heading up campaigns for hair brands especially L’Oréal Professionnel. But while hairdressing is his great love, Louis has a heart big enough to take on a lot more. He’s a Reset coach, with empowerment a key driver… his work with his project #I Can I Am and I Will and energy in getting mental health and inclusivity into schools is remarkable. Oh yes, and he’s a very busy DJ.

Tell us more

After training for years in salons, Louis moved onto a career as a session stylist. From Northamptonshire originally, he’s now based in London but travels for work with fashion, music, celebrity and red-carpet VIPs.

Alongside his hairdressing work, Louis reflects on his personal journey in slaying his own demons and learning to love and hold self-esteem. He explains how this has shaped the work he does today as an empowerment coach. And not just for hairdressers. The I Can I Am and I Will mantra is a way to own your identity and embrace who you are. A 13-week reset programme called The Big Manifest, is hosted digitally and you can work at your own pace with Louis sharing video and advice for each stage of your progress. A journal created by Louis helps you track your pursuit of wellbeing [scroll for details]. And we love his street conversations on Instagram inviting people he meets to ‘share their sweet spot’ as part of @thebigmanifest on socials.

During the conversation, you’ll hear references to these and many of Louis Byrne’s passions, including the DJ work for @Dayfeveruk … the biggest daytime party you can enjoy around the UK. Louis Byrne?
