EP137 – Liam Curran shares with Nicky Pope a peek into the world of celebrity and VIP session styling
Liam Curran shares with Nicky Pope a peek into the world of celebrity and VIP Session styling! Candid and generous, Liam explains how he’s made it to the top of a superbly competitive world. He also gives us hints and ideas on how to progress yourself to live the session styling dream.

Liam’s story
Liam started his career working in salons where he diligently learned his cut, style and colouring skills. But there was no denying a growing interest in session work. High fashion was calling and Liam won places on teams assisting the ‘big guys’ such as Guido, Eugene Souleiman and Sam McKnight. By the age of 21 he was signed to an agency in his own right and the bookings rolled in. Some 17 years on, find out in our podcast how Liam’s workload has evolved. And importantly, whether the highflying life of a sessionista is everything a young hairdresser dreamed of.

A regular calendar of bookings for Liam has shifted away from work on the designer shows backstage to time with clients attending the shows ie, the talent or VIPs. Although an occasional project for Burberry or Harris Tweed still appeals.“I”ve always liked high fashion and editorial,” says Liam. “But now I go where the celebrities are.”
