Why? The year 2025 was also when Charlie himself died. The family and indeed the entire hairdressing industry lost a key figure and champion for hairdressing. Yet, thanks to Charlie’s extraordinary character (strength, kindness, resilience and calm), the family brand will remain strong. And we will continue to see them upfront promoting this great profession.

Josh Miller, India Miller & Jason Miller

Charlie’s wife Janet, sons Joshua and Jason, with daughter in law India, have a clarity of vision and determination to uphold all that Charlie built, and then some.

Meet the Millers

India, Jason, Nicky & Josh in the Respectfully studio

In this podcast, Jason, Joshua and India Miller share with host Nicky Pope, their vision for hairdressing. Sharing memories of working with Charlie, they each recall how their creativity evolved, and how they will uphold the watchwords of the salon group. From business to team-building, it’s all discussed. This is a warm, interesting conversation. Discover more about this leading hairdressing dynasty who are so well respected and well-awarded in the UK and internationally.

Having recorded this episode only three weeks previously, the Respectfully producers and host Nicky Pope, had heard just how distinguished Debbie’s career is proving. To see her honoured by her peers in the industry confirms how hard she works in hairdressing to train, educate and share. During this podcast, you’ll enjoy getting to know someone who is certainly a force for good in our industry.

Debbie Gee for Respectfully podcast
Debbie Gee: Ambassador for Schwarzkopf Professional

All about Debbie Gee

Bouncing from 20 years as Creative Director at Vidal Sassoon London Schools into a career as an independent educator, Debbie is as grounded and open-minded as anyone needs to be in modern times. Together with husband and business partner Billi Currie, Debbie runs a boutique hair salon in London’s Marylebone area. But still teaches where possible. An Ambassador for Schwarzkopf Professional UK, and a stalwart of the Fellowship, Debbie is constantly teaching courses and seminars. Precision cutting is her forte, she tells us. Clarity, compassion and vision seems to be her signature style.

Shaping futures

On a recently trip the Philippines, Debbie joined the Shaping Futures programme for two weeks, on behalf of Schwarzkopf Professional. Her work supporting the training of socially disadvantaged young adults to become hairdressers was emotional and empowering. Listen to Debbie recount the experience – it’s uplifting and motivating for sure!

The discussion took place just prior to the exciting launch of Davide’s online DS Hair Education. The conversation focused on the innovative way Davide is pitching the education he offers. His use of pre-recorded education methods with live consultation specific to your personal needs, is really inspiring.

DS Hair Education

Now freshly launched for anyone to access, the premise of www.DSHairEducation.com is not to insist on a complete seminar session in order to learn or revise your technique. Instead, while there are currently 38 Step-by-Step classed now online, there are also 100+ video tutorial sharing the detail of small repeatable steps to build confidence instead of confusion. For one-to-one advice, Davide has options for posing questions in advance of a scheduled call with him personally, to discuss your specific struggles or needs.

Also in the episode above, Nicky learns from Davide how the website can be used by independents, team leaders and other educators. There is a menu of plans to choose from with personal one-to-one advice on an as-needs basis from only £30/conversation.

Listen to the podcast and if you like what you hear, then do visit the site and contact Davide. His history with the likes of HOB Salons and Trevor Sorbie make him a truly talented educator.
