The Alternative Hair International Visionary Award is back bigger than ever, with 2024 marking its 20th Anniversary. Here’s a chance to enter a competition and pay respect to the fundraising done by the Alternative Hair Show to support research into blood cancer.

Here’s how

The International Visionary Award is the annual artistic hair competition that allows hairdressers worldwide to be recognised internationally for their creative talents and visions. Founded by Alternative Hair Show President Anthony Mascolo, the International Visionary Award is the only competition of its kind exuding uniqueness and originality. The successful finalists selected in each category will be invited to appear in the International Visionary Award presentation live at the London Alternative Hair Show on Sunday 13th October 2024. You can submit as many photos as possible in order to increase your chances of appearing at the 42nd Alternative Hair Show as a finalist.

Overview

It casts £50 to enter the awards with the money going to support Fighting Leukaemia Alternative Hair Charitable Foundation (Registered Charity: 1147189).
Enter as many photos as you want across three categories: Mens; Cut & Colour; and Avant-garde
Closing date is 28 June – so get to it.

The Talent Green House is a platform that allows up-and-coming professional hairdressing talent, access to some of the industry’s top professionals through lectures, mentorship, and collaborative community. And the journey may take them on the stage of the next Worldwide Hair Tour and a chance to win their show in the future!

Young hair stylist can enter online, just needing access to Instagram and their talent, with no need for expensive production.

100 stylist will be selected and there names shared on Davines Education to enter the Talent Green House through a unique mentoring program lead by exceptional industry mentors. The 1st stage of the contest will end in January 2024 with 10 semi finals being chosen during the digital talent green house show and they will compete live onstage at World Wide Hair Tour 2024 at the grand final. To win a show of their own.

The most fun night in hairdressing/barbering is back! #OpenChairNight is hosted by HairClubLive and you can dare the chair to get your 10 minutes in the spotlight. Sign up as a presenter, grab a model and let your imagination run riot.

You have 10 minutes – a traffic lights keeps time – on stage to show what you can do. It’s just £6 to take part and no need for a professional model – friends, family… it’s really informal. A DJ plays the tunes, no need to talk, just do your creative best.
